Understand open-end, closed-end and two-way zipper structures before developing apparel, bags or equipment.
Start with the application
End construction determines whether the two zipper sides separate completely. It is one of the first specifications a factory needs before quoting or sampling.
Understand the construction
An open-end zipper separates at the bottom and normally uses a box-and-pin assembly. Common applications include jackets and other products that need to open completely.
Confirm functional details
A closed-end zipper remains connected at one end. It is frequently used for pockets, bags, cushions, trousers and other openings that do not separate into two pieces.
Coordinate appearance and components
Two-way constructions use two sliders and can be developed for long coats, luggage, tents and special access requirements. The direction of both sliders must be clearly marked.
Prepare a clear sampling request
Send a photo of the finished product or a zipper sample when the construction is difficult to describe. Confirm top stop, bottom stop, slider direction and finished length.
